I am looking forward to setting a new group in motion to work, play, learn, find ways of bringing more art to community. Our first meeting is next week.

My own work has always involved machine and/ or  hand embroidery as well as other techniques. Most recently , Handworks Gallery in Acton, MA took this piece-What Bird Told Coyote. It is embroidery on appliquéd material, on canvas with cotton 6 strand, on colored scrims, with commercial rubber minis-(snake and lizard)  6′ by 6″

The Dreamer and the Dream

I am always working on more than one thing at a time.  Here are my work breaks from  painting fabrics for backgrounds for wall pieces, and in between assembling collages. Several Good Fibes brooches and maybe a few necklaces will replenish my currently inactive Etsy shop before the holidays along with some terrific vintage 80’s gallery jewelry. I will certainly report on my progress towards that goal.

The power of magic is all around us and inside us. When we perceive “how exquisite is the beauty of an ordinary day,” we are inside the magic. My shadow box piece holds the magic of childhood, my embroidered Mexican Jacket,  flowers, butterflies, fruit, dolls, color and texture and images of a party, a festival, a celebration that I carry with me, even through difficult times. Did they ever exist really? I think they have always been part of me and the magic of my imagination.
